Sky is one of the major streaming providers on the market. Since June 2022, the former Sky ticket offer has been called WOW. In the course of the rebranding, the entertainment package became WOW series, and the film package can be booked in addition to the WOW Films & Series tariff. Customers will then have a large number of new films and series at their disposal, with new content added every month. The same applies to Sky Q. New series on Sky Q and WOW in August and September
In August, some series highlights can be seen again on Sky. Of course, we are particularly excited about the new Game of Thrones spin-off, House of the Dragon. The series shows a different part of the history of Westeros and sheds more light on the house of the Targaryens with their dragons. In September, among other things, the new thriller series “Munich Games” will be coming to Sky. In a fictitious year 2022, another assassination attempt in Munich must be prevented – this time hopefully successful. In addition, Oscar winner Alicia Vikander can be seen in the mini-series “Irma Vep”.

House of the Dragon (Season 1) – starting August 23
In August, the long-awaited spin-off of “Game of Thrones” – one of the most successful series of all time. The Targaryens take center stage in House of the Dragon. Because before the fight for the throne of Westeros, the family ruled over the continent with their dragons. When Rhaenyra Targaryen, the king’s firstborn daughter, becomes the first woman to claim the throne, war ensues.

Munich Games – from September 4th
This Sky Original series builds on the Munich assassination in 1972. 50 years later in 2022 another attack on a soccer friendly game is imminent. A Mossad agent and an LKA officer work together to prevent this.
Irma Vep – from September 16th
Hollywood star Mira (Alicia Vikander) fights against being cast for the same roles over and over again and not everything is going smoothly in her private life either. So she travels to Paris to take on the legendary role of Irma Vep in a remake. In addition to problems with her colleagues on the set (including Lars Eidinger), the young woman develops an ambivalent relationship with her difficult role.
New films on Sky Q and WOW im August and September
Sky’s film selection for August and September includes a number of highlights. Among others, Lady Gaga and Adam Driver as well as Jared Leto shine in “House of Gucci”. At the beginning of September, the new Batman film starring Robert Pattinson will be released straight from the cinemas. Also, after an 11-year hiatus, Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O and Co. are reuniting for what will probably be their final time on the movie Jackass Forever.
House of Gucci – from August 5th
Directed by Ridley Scott, this film is based on the true events surrounding the death of Maurizio Gucci. Lady Gaga and Adam Driver are convincing in the leading roles.
The Batman – from September 2nd
Robert Pattinson stars in this reimagining of the well-known comic book. The sinister avenger in the bat costume takes action against corruption in Gotham City. He’s also on the trail of a serial killer.
Marry Me – from September 9th
In this romantic comedy, Jennifer Lopez plays a pop star who gets cheated on live on stage – and then makes an impulsive decision to marry a complete stranger (Owen Wilson). Apart from the fact that the two do not know each other, two completely different realities of life now meet. However, this unexpectedly turns into a romance.
