Marlen Reusser is the name of the old and new title holder at the European Championships in the individual time trial. The German women had nothing to do with the medals.

In the women’s individual time trial, the German starters Lisa Klein and Lisa Brennauer clearly missed out on the medals on Wednesday (08/17/2022). The Swiss defending champion, Marlen Reusser, was the fastest to cover the 24 kilometers around the town of Fürstenfeldbruck in the Munich area in 30:59.90 minutes.

German women without a chance

Second was Dutch cyclist Ellen van Dijk, just five seconds behind her compatriot Riejanne Markus in bronze. Brennauer was 12th, Klein was 22nd and was around three and a half minutes behind. However, both had to struggle with Corona in preparation.

For Brennauer it was the last time trial race of her career. After the European Championships in Munich she ended her sporting career, on the last day of the games there was still the road race.
