Man stabbed in Houthulst after arguing with sons

Around seven thirty, it is said that an argument had broken out between the man and his two adult sons. A fight ensued in which the father was stabbed with a knife. Neighbors heard screams and called the police.

MUG helicopter

Police quickly arrived and found a large knife. A MUG helicopter brought the man to the AZ Delta in Roeselare. He is said to be in critical condition.

Evicted

Both sons have been arrested for questioning. According to the Nieuwsblad, one of the sons has not had contact with his father for two years and the other is said to have been evicted from the house three weeks ago. The victim’s wife and 16-year-old daughter were present during the stabbing.

The car in which the sons arrived has been taken for a trace investigation. The Ooststraat will also be closed for the entire evening for further investigation.
