Borussia Mönchengladbach is apparently still planning a double strike on the transfer market and wants to sign striker Dion Beljo and national player and ex-BVB professional Julian Weigl. One of the two planned commitments is apparently imminent.
The Fohlenelf will apparently soon be richer by an attacker. According to information from “Sky”, those responsible for Borussia have found a successor for Breel Embolo, who has migrated to AS Monaco. Accordingly, a transfer from Dion Beljo is imminent. The Gladbachers are said to have already verbally agreed on a change with the Croatian striker.
However, the agreement with his club NK Osijek is still open. The sixth in the Croatian first division is therefore demanding up to ten million euros for the striker, who is tied until 2025. Those responsible for Borussia are said to have “only” offered 3.5 million euros for Beljo, whose market value is estimated at around four to five million euros.
Dion Beljo is compared to Zlatan Ibrahimovic
With his height of 1.95m, Beljo is considered to be highly gifted, especially in physical terms. Despite his stature, he has a fine ball handling. In his homeland he is therefore already compared to the Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Croatian U21 national player was loaned to league rivals NK Istra last season and made a name for himself there as a goalscorer. With his 15 goals this season, the offensive talent was the third top scorer in the Croatian league. In the new season he has two goals after three games.
While Beljo should bring new offensive power to the Lower Rhine, Julian Weigl would be a reinforcement for the more defensive part of the team. The former BVB professional, who is currently employed by Benfica, is considered Daniel Farke’s dream player. That’s why Gladbach sports director Roland Virkus is currently working on getting the six from Lisbon.
The Portuguese media say Weigl could leave the club on loan. There are already several interested parties. Including Borussia and other Bundesliga clubs.
