The Omroep MAX hit series was broadcast in 2017 and 2019 and in addition to Kees Hulst, André van Duin also played a major role in the often moving series.
There seemed to be a question of a third season on TV last year, but Omroep MAX boss Jan Slagter contradicted that. He did say that a film could be on the silver screen.
Amazing that it doesn’t work
According to Kees, that does not seem to be possible, he told the NPO Radio 1 program Never More Sleep on Friday night. “It’s not so much that I want that, but that’s what all kinds of producers and writers are behind and a whole team of people who would really like that. And it’s amazing that somehow it just doesn’t work. There is no money available or there is no priority for it.”
From a success series like The Lice Mother eventually a movie version was released. So Kees finds it strange that the project seems to have come to a standstill.

The actor has already indicated in the past that he would like to crawl into the skin of Hendrik Groen again. “But of course it’s not up to me to say that, because I don’t have to write a whole new script for a movie or a new season,” he said at the time.
Lovers of Hendrik Groen’s secret diary can of course watch the series again on NPO Start for the time being.
