German horses take the last hurdle before the Dressage World Championships

One day before the start of the dressage competitions as part of the Equestrian World Championships in Herning, all four German horses passed the veterinary condition test, the so-called vet check.

Quantaz (Isabell Werth), Franziskus (Ingrid Klimke), Duke of Britain (Frederic Wandres) and Famoso (Benjamin Werndl) completed the required walk and trot without any problems.

The World Championship begins on Saturday with the first part of the Grand Prix, in the second part on Sunday the decision in the team classification will be made. Germany is the defending champion, but not a favourite: hosts Denmark took on this role in Herning.

The gold medals in the two individual competitions Grand Prix Special (Monday) and Freestyle (Wednesday) could also remain in the host country: Cathrine Dufour and her ten-year-old Westphalian gelding Vamos Amigos are ahead of the bookmakers. Defending champion in the special is Isabell Werth, the freestyle at the 2018 World Championships in Tryon was canceled due to an impending hurricane.
