Due to an illness with Covid-19, Elton John has to postpone two concerts of his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour. This affects performances at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on January 25th and 26th.
The singer said in a statement: “It is with great regret that the ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour dates set for Tuesday, January 25th and Wednesday, January 26th in Dallas have been postponed due to Elton’s recent positive diagnosis of COVID -19 was tested. Luckily, Elton is fully vaccinated and boosted and has only mild symptoms. Elton and the ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour look forward to returning to the stage soon.”
Elton’s farewell tour has stopped several times
The singer’s corona disease is just one of several delays to the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour. Shortly after the start of the farewell tour in 2018, numerous planned shows were canceled due to the spread of the corona pandemic. After the tour had resumed, the performances planned for Europe in September 2021 had to be postponed again. But not this time due to Covid-19. Elton injured his hip in a fall and needed surgery.
However, the Briton is optimistic about his future tour stops. After the shows that have already been canceled, the performance in Little Rock, Arkansas on January 29, 2022 is scheduled to take place as planned – as far as the pop singer has recovered by then.
Meanwhile, Elton will probably not appear in Germany until 2023 with his farewell tour.
