The Ukrainian referee Kateryna Monzul will referee the European Championship final of the German soccer team against England in London on Sunday (6 p.m.).
The 41-year-old has been officiating international games since 2004, and she was responsible for two group games and the quarter-finals between Sweden and Belgium (1-0) at the European Championship.
Experience with German teams
Monzul, who has been officiating games in the Ukrainian men’s league for years, also has experience with German teams: in 2014 she was the referee of the Champions League final between VfL Wolfsburg and Tyresö FF (4:3). Today’s DFB captain Alexandra Popp scored the Wolfsburg 2-1.
Monzul’s assistants will be Maryna Strilezka (Ukraine) and Paulina Baranowska (Poland). VAR is Paolo Valeri from Italy.
