According to the prosecutor’s office, the victim was training with two other cyclists from Team Japan when she suddenly fell. She lurched unhappily to the other side of the lane just as a car just passed. “Despite prompt intervention, the young woman did not survive,” said the prosecutor.
The prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation entrusted to the national police forces to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
