With Jule Brand in attack for Klara Bühl, the German footballers go into the European Championship semifinals against France.
The future woman from Wolfsburg and at 19 the youngest member of the DFB team will attack today in Milton Keynes together with captain Alexandra Popp and Svenja Huth at the record European champions.
The DFB announced Bühl’s failure due to a positive corona test the day before the game. The left winger from FC Bayern was previously set with Martina Voss-Tecklenburg. Otherwise, the national coach trusts her starting eleven with the defensive axis with Lena Oberdorf, Marina Hegering and goalkeeper Merle Frohms.
“We want to stick to our game and pose problems for our opponents. But we always have the option of making a change,” said Voss-Tecklenburg shortly before kick-off on ZDF. “We said from the start that we were going to the European Championship to win every game.”
Bühl’s offensive colleague from Munich, Bundesliga top scorer Lea Schüller, is on the bench like in the 2-0 quarter-final against Austria after she returned from her corona quarantine. The winner of the game meets hosts England on July 31 (6:00 p.m. CEST/ARD and DAZN) in the final at Wembley.
