Is FC Bayern still reacting to the loss of top scorer Robert Lewandowski by transferring a top striker? For weeks there have been persistent rumors about Munich’s interest in Naples’ Victor Osimhen. Now the Nigerian has spoken a word of power.
Little went well for Victor Osimhen in his first attempt in the Bundesliga. The massive attacker was never happy at VfL Wolfsburg and escaped after just one season.
The 23-year-old is now one of the most sought-after nines in the world, and FC Bayern is said to have considered him when looking for a suitable successor to Robert Lewandowski.
However, speculation about an offer from Munich was recently invalidated by Naples sports director Cristiano Giuntoli. “We didn’t receive any offer for Victor from Bayern Munich,” the official was quoted as saying by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Napoli’s transfer fee for Bayern Munich is far too high
Now the courted striker has also made a statement himself. “I’m in Naples. I have a lot of respect for my club. These are just the typical rumors on the market. I’m fine here,” emphasized the national player in an interview with the newspaper “Corriere dello Sport”.
Osimhen’s current working paper with the Series A representative is valid until 2025. For less than 100 million euros, the SSC allegedly does not want to let their goal-getter go.
The offensive star does not want to leave anyway. “I spoke to the president recently. He’s the one who makes the decisions and he reassured me once again how (big) the club’s plans are,” explained Osimhen.
Means: A departure this summer is almost impossible. It was unlikely that FC Bayern would spend so much money again.
