Amsterdam – The price of gold fell substantially below $1,700 per troy ounce (31.1 grams) on Thursday for the first time in 11 months. Investors are stepping out of the precious metal towards the first rate hike in eleven years by the European Central Bank (ECB) today and because of the expected hike in key interest rates in the United States next week.
