Roadside fire in De Haan: cars completely burned out

It is not clear whether the fire was caused by the heat. Five cars were burnt out in the fire and six other cars were damaged. This confirms police zone Bredene-De Haan. The fire brigade is still extinguishing the fire.

The fire started in De Haan, near the golf club, near Vosseslag and raged in a stretch of dunes on the central reservation between two coastal courses over a distance of about 100 meters.

Road closed

Police and fire brigade were on site en masse to prevent the fire from spreading further in the dunes. Two helicopters also arrived on the scene.

Tram traffic was also briefly interrupted. The tram will run again from 3.15 pm, albeit slowly. The Koninklijke Baan is completely closed.
