Karsten Warholm barked new super spikes. Now he brought his new “weapon” to Eugene.
A Norwegian sensation Karsten Warholm easily made his way to the men’s 400m hurdles final. The time of exactly 48 seconds qualified for the second fastest result in the semifinals.
The world record holder and Olympic champion has come to Eugene to compete with new shoes that surprised even the competitors.

Warholm shoes are new generation super spikes that are Norway’s TV2 approved for use just before the World Cup. Behind the shoes is Warholm’s trainer Leif Olav Alnes.
– Leif says that this will revolutionize the shoe market, Warholm said to Norway’s TV2.
Like other modern super spikes, the sole of the shoe is made of foam and carbon fiber, but the spike at the end of the toe makes Warholm’s spikes faster than their peers.
According to TV2’s tests, the spiked shoe has produced faster times. The spike increases contact time with the ground, which allows Warholm to use his running power more efficiently.

Even at the Tokyo Olympics last summer, Warholm criticized modern super spikes. The Olympic gold medalist openly shared his displeasure with running for silver Rai Benjamin’s into shoes.
