Although the first day of the Nijmegen Four Days Marches – which was supposed to start today – has been cancelled, there are still walkers who put on their walking shoes this morning. Also Tamara from Emmen does not want to make it a ‘three days’ this year.
“We’ve been running since a quarter to four tonight. It’s about 18 degrees, so that’s wonderful”, she said just before half past six this morning. To avoid the heat, she doesn’t run the planned 40 kilometers, but sticks to 30. “We try to be inside between 11 a.m. and 12 noon, before it gets very hot.”
