Melvine Malard opened the scoring for France after 43 seconds. Dagný Brynjarsdóttir converted a penalty for Iceland in the 12th minute of injury time.
Belgium further
Belgium has secured a place in the quarterfinals with a 0-1 win against Italy. After a first half without goals, Tine De Caigny gave the Belgian women the lead in the 49th minute. Italy then put pressure on, but an equalizer was not achieved.
Tessa Wullaert was still close to 2-0, but the ball hit the post. Belgium is second in the group after Iceland’s draw and goes to the quarter-finals.
