collapse and own record in the World Championships

Sweden’s Grete Ahlberg survived the dark times to the World Championships and record-breaking fitness.

Silja from Koso and Krista Tervoa against those who competed in the women’s shot put Grete Ahlberg24, was in the shape of his life at the U.S. World Championships.

Ahlberg broke the 70-meter barrier for the first time in his career, when the moukari flew to 70.87 meters. In the final, the Swede raced 70.11 meters. It was enough for ninth place, right in front of Tervo.

– I know that my mother is at home and is crying now, she commented to SVT.

However, it is a small miracle that Ahlberg even threw in the World Cup final. He revealed after the competition that he had been in really deep water two years ago.

– I couldn’t get out of bed. I wrote to my coach For Mattias Jons, that I will stop right now. I felt really bad. Sports and training became completely impossible because I had anxiety and stress around the clock.

– I felt like I was in a deep hole. I didn’t want anything to do with athletics. I wanted to be human again.

Ahlberg sought help from a sports psychologist. He took a break from both training and studying for several months.

– I thought it would take forever to find the beauty of sports again. It took two years.
