54

22:11

Däbitz penetrates the sixteen on the right wing without any real resistance. She crosses from the baseline too close to the box. Goalkeeper Talaslahti grabs the ball safely at the near post.

51.

22:08

The favorites come back on the pitch very purposefully, pushing for more quick goals. Martina Voss-Tecklenburg seems to have found the right words in the dressing room.

48

22:05

Tooor for Germany, 0:2 by Alexandra Popp

Captain Popp also scores in her third tournament game! Hendrich, sent to the deep right flank by Anyomi, who was substituted with her, crosses from the baseline to the central five-man edge with buttery softness. Completely pop your forehead into the half-left corner.

47

22:05

Martina Voss-Tecklenburg made two personnel changes during the break. She spares Hegering and Gwinn. They are replaced by Hendrich and Anyomi; the latter celebrates its European Championship debut.

46

22:03

Welcome back to round two at stadium:mk! As expected, the Voss-Tecklenburg team has a clear field advantage over the bottom of the group, but has so far been a long way from the callousness of the European Championship games against Denmark and Spain. If there is a stronger tailwind going into the quarter-finals against Austria, you have to shift up a gear or two.

Kick-off 2nd half

45

21:47

Mid-term conclusion:
The German national team led 1-0 at the break in their final European Championship group game against Finland. Right from the start, the DFB team presented themselves as extremely dominant and enthusiastic, pushing their opponents deep into their half. Many worthwhile attacks and actions within the opponent’s penalty area came early on, but initially there were no compelling opportunities. Only after half an hour did Popp narrowly miss a goal twice (27′, 30′). In the last quarter of an hour they also provided one-way street football, but still lacked the necessary overview in the last third of the field to get into good final positions. It was not until the 40th minute that the undisputed winners of Group B took the lead with a header from Kleinhernes. See you soon!

45

21:46

Official stoppage time (minutes): 1
Round one in Milton Keynes is to be extended by 60 seconds.

45

21:45

Bühl penetrates the penalty area via the deep left wing and tries a right-footed shot from a very acute angle. She clearly misses the long corner.

43

21:44

The Finns are unimpressed by the expected setback and are sticking to their stoic approach. They fight passionately for a tolerable result.

40

21:40

Sophia Kleinherne

Tooor for Germany, 0:1 by Sophia Kleinherne

The DFB selection takes the lead before the break! Gwinn finds a way to the baseline via the right side of the penalty area. She sensitively crosses past goalkeeper Talaslahti back to the central five-point edge. Kleinherne nods off without any problems and celebrates her first international goal.

39

21:39

Huth scrapes the ball off the baseline on the right flank. On the half-right edge of the five, Dallmann initially sticks to defender Kuikka with a right-footed shot, but then gets through with a second attempt. The defused conclusion is easy prey for Talaslahti.

36

21:34

As a result of a collision with her colleague Däbritz, Gwinn has to be treated on the field on her right knee. But she will be able to continue her working day.

33

21:32

At the end of a 20-metre solo from the half-left corridor into the center, Däbritz Huth sends a diagonal pass to the right side of the penalty area. The Wolfsburg woman throws the ball from twelve meters to the flat right corner. Talaslahti is once again on the spot.

30

21:29

Pop with the next chance! The Wolfsburg player involuntarily deflected a long-range shot from Hegering in such a way that the ball just missed the right post halfway up. Keeper Talaslahti would have been powerless.

27

21:28

Pop missing centimeter to lead the DFB selection! Däbritz breaks through to the baseline on the right flank and gives half-height in front of the near post. The captain gets the ball in front of goalkeeper Talaslahti, but pushes it just past the aluminum post.

26

21:25

Win at full speed! Popp fixes a pass from midfield in the offensive center and passes the ball on to Däbritz. It shifts flat to the right side of the penalty area to Gwinn, who shoots from a tight angle and a good 13 meters. She clearly misses the short corner.

23

21:24

For the first time, the Finns are able to press beyond the center line. The high start-up brings the German development to a standstill. The underdog’s defenders can breathe easy for once.

20

21:20

After a short pass from Dallmann, Däbritz lays it back flat on the left side of the penalty area for Bühl, who tries a shot from 14 meters to the left inside of the foot. Goalkeeper Talaslahti grabs safely in the left-hand corner.

17

21:16

The Signeul squad has not been an active part of this game so far and only very rarely makes it over the center line. A first partial success is a quarter of an hour without a hundred percent opportunity for the group winner.

14

21:13

In the aftermath of a corner, which the Finns only half-heartedly cleared on the third attempt, Kleinherne appeared on the left side of the penalty area and took a shot with his left. The ball doesn’t rush far over the opponent’s case.

11.

21:12

After Kollanen stepped on Gwinn’s right foot in the fight for a free ball, unobserved by the referee, the Munich player initially lay down. Fortunately, after a few moments she can continue without treatment.

8th.

21:08

Däbritz with direct acceptance! As a result of a one-two with Bühl, who returns the ball on the left side of the sixteen with a hoe, the France legionnaire shoots from 14 meters with her left inside instep in the direction of the goal. The ball rushes just over this.

5.

21:04

Däbritz promoted the premiere corner from the right flag to the nearby pentagon. Lattwein reaches the ball with the back of his head, but fails to make an attempt towards the Finnish goal.

2.

21:02

A quick first finish for the favorites! After Huth was freed on the deep right flank, the Wolfsburg woman crossed to the penalty spot. When under pressure, Popp doesn’t head far past the right post.

The DFB team against Finland – Germany’s third appearance at the European Championship is underway!

20:55

The national anthems sound.

The 22 leading actresses have just walked onto the lawn.

20:36

The Finns, who celebrated their only win against a DFB selection in October 1985 and whose biggest European Championship success was reaching the semi-finals 17 years ago, made five changes after the 1-0 defeat by Denmark. Instead of Korpela, Westerlund, Öling, Sainio and Franssi, Talaslahti, Heroum, Engman, Kemppi and Kollanen start.

20:28

On the side of the DFB squad, which beckons the first European Championship group phase without losing a point since 2009, national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg changed her starting eleven four times compared to the 2-0 win against Spain. Dallmann, Doorsoun, Kleinherne and Lattwein take the places of Hendrich, Magull (both on the bench), Rauch, Oberdorf (both suspended).

20:21

With today’s match, the Finnish national team bids farewell to the European Championships, in which they are taking part for the fourth time. She got off to the best possible start in the tournament with Sällstrom’s very early lead in the opening game against Spain, but she clearly lost it 4-1. They lost 1-0 to the Danes after conceding a goal in the 72nd minute – over the 90 minutes they developed far too few good attacks.

20:17

After the German team got back at the start with the Scandinavians with a dominant appearance for the quarter-finals five years ago, the most recent success in the duel with the extremely strong selection of Spain was based on the high level of efficiency. The Selección dominated the action with high ball possession values, but only created a few good chances against the stable defensive department of the Voss-Tecklenburg squad. On the other side, the DFB team struck ice cold twice during their advances.

20:08

As one of three of the 16 participating nations, the German national team, coached by national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, secured early entry into the knockout phase. By following up a 4-0 thrashing of Denmark with a 2-0 win over Spain, Germany are through to the knockout stages with 90 minutes remaining in the group. The opponent in the quarter-finals has also been decided since yesterday: on Thursday in Brentford we will face the Austrians.
