Latecomers can still have their Christmas tree picked up

The annual collection campaign for disused Christmas trees by the Berliner Stadtreinigung (BSR) ended on January 21st, and now the stragglers are being collected.

This is done via the “Christmas tree discovery service”, as the Berlin city cleaning department announced. There tree localities via an online form or reported by phone at 7592-4900.

“However, this is not an extension of the regular collection campaign,” emphasizes Sebastian Harnisch from the BSR. You get the trees with the normal household waste. “Anyone who reports a Christmas tree latecomer cannot expect that it will be gone the next day”.

If you want to get rid of your old Christmas tree faster, you should take it straight to a BSR recycling center. Incidentally, the trees do not belong in the organic waste bin because the trunks and branches cannot be processed by the biogas plants.
