Gladbach scores five times against third division team Viktoria Köln

Back from the training camp at Tegernsee, Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach also won the third pre-season friendly. There was an unchallenged 5:2 (1:0) victory against third division team Viktoria Köln on the home training ground.

Florian Neuhaus (40′), Jonas Hofmann (58′, 86′), Lars Stindl (61′) and Joe Scally (71′) scored for Borussia, Patrick Sontheimer (64′) and Ben Hompesch (83′) were for the Cologne successful.

After victories against newly promoted regional league team RW Essen (4:2) and 1860 Munich (6:0) from the 3rd division, the team headed by new coach Daniel Farke still has two endurance tests against the Belgian first division side Standard Liège (16th July) and the Spanish top team Real Sociedad (July 23).

In the first round of the DFB Cup, the Foals travel to SV Oberachern on July 31, and the Bundesliga starts on August 6 with a home game against TSG Hoffenheim.

On August 31, Viktoria Köln will meet record champions Bayern Munich in the first round of the cup and can look forward to a great crowd at Cologne’s RheinEnergie Stadium.
