FC Bayern has set further course for the future of. On Wednesday, Munich announced the transfer of a young talent from Hertha BSC. Noel Aseko Nkili moves to the performance center of the German record champions.

For a few days there has been speculation about FC Bayern’s interest in Noel Aseko Nkili, and now the series champion has officially signed the 16-year-old midfielder. Aseko Nkili signs until 2025.

“We have had Noel on our radar for a long time. He is an absolute top talent in his year and in his position. We are all the happier to have convinced him of our further development concept at FC Bayern,” said Bayern campus manager Jochen Sauer on the club’s own website.

“Noel is a fast-moving and technically adept central midfielder who is always able to put his team-mates in the limelight. He also has a great mentality, he can inspire a team. We are convinced of his qualities and that he will find his way with us will go,” added Sauer.

Aseko Nkili is very excited about his new task in southern Germany. “I’m really looking forward to this big challenge at FC Bayern and can’t wait to be on the pitch with my new team,” he said.

Aseko Nkili got a taste of the U19s

The defensive midfielder switched from Berlin Zehlendorf to Hertha BSC in 2017. From then on, the native of Berlin went through all youth departments of the Bundesliga soccer team.

In the past 2021/22 season, Aseko Nkili was mainly used for the U17s, who narrowly missed making it into the championship final. Only in the semifinals did the Hertha juniors fail at VfB Stuttgart. The youngster was also allowed to play for the Hertha BSC U19s once.

In courting Aseko Nkili, FC Bayern is said to have prevailed against RB Salzburg, according to “Bild” information, and the Austrians were also said to be interested in the young midfielder.

Aseko Nkili suits FC Bayern well

With Aseko Nkili, the youngsters of the record champions get a talented six with a great offensive drive. The right footer managed eight assists in 15 U17 games in the Bundesliga North/Northeast, making him the best assist provider of the entire season.

His talent has long been well known to the DFB. In September 2021, Noel Aseko Nkili made his debut for the German U17 national team and he can now look back on eleven international matches.

FC Bayern’s U17 team ended the past season in sixth place with 38 points. Bayern’s U19s weren’t able to make a big impact last season either and finished ninth.
