The new Winston Gerschtanowitz show The Best Answer has started with astonishingly low ratings. Not surprising, according to viewing figures expert Tina Nijkamp. “It’s like local TV!”

Winston Gerschtanowitz is deeply disappointed with his new TV program The Best Answer on SBS 6. The first episode managed to entertain only 272 thousand viewers (6 percent market share) yesterday, on Sunday evening. With that, he does not even score enough viewers to end up in the daily top 25 viewership.

“Looks like local TV!”

Tina Nijkamp, former channel boss of SBS 6, already saw it coming a bit. She was in front of the tube yesterday and was not impressed at all. “Oh dear… What kind of studio is this? Looks like green screen. And so empty. Is this prime time worthy? More local TV-esque,” she writes on her ratings juice channel

She continues: “Leader music and tunes during waiting times are similar to One against 50. Program clearly seems to be broadcast for international sales. Little Four Is Too Much atmosphere.”

‘Very low’

Vier Is Te Veel is Sander Lantinga’s quiz that was recently taken off the air. And that could just happen with The Best Answer. “As expected, Winston’s new quiz scores poorly, but 272,000 viewers is very little. And that after an expensive extensive marketing campaign, including radio spots,” says Tina.

It really is a dredging score, she continues. “Worst scoring program of SBS 6 yesterday. Even the ready made Major Renovation New Zealand scores higher. Also in target group 20 to 54 years only 6.3 percent market share. This program not only has the same atmosphere as that other quiz; Four Is Too Much, also the same viewing figures.”

Floortje wins

Floortje Dessing was the prime-time winner with 1.4 million viewers (32 percent) for her NPO 1 hit Floortje Naar Heteinde Van De Wereld. Subsequently, Classics with Kleinsma attracted 723 thousand viewers (17 percent).

RTL 4 is in second place with Beat the Champions (708 thousand and 17 percent) and One against 50 (695 thousand and 17 percent). Furthermore, women’s football on NPO 3 in particular scored well: France – Italy accounted for 623 thousand viewers (16 percent).

At half past nine, SBS 6 managed to conquer a spot in the top 25. Stegeman op de Bres attracted 298 thousand viewers (7 percent).

Viewing figures

Other programs that did not make the top 15 include vtwonen (475 thousand), Planet Earth 2 (469 thousand) and Chansons (291 thousand).
