Fendi has presented its first high jewelery pieces during the AW22 couture runway show in Paris. The pieces were designed by Delfina Delettrez Fendi, who is creative director for the jewelry section at the Italian fashion house.

The first collection includes a necklace, earrings and a ring, all of which have the same design. The golden Fendi monogram, designed by former chief designer Karl Lagerfeld in 1965, can be found in all three designs alongside white diamonds. The necklace consists of over 1,000 stones, in the center of which is an emerald-cut diamond, framed by the Fendi monogram.

Delettrez Fendi drew inspiration for the pieces from the Roman roots of the Fendi brand. Hence the name of the collection ‘Flavus’ – a Latin term that describes a yellow or blonde hue that is reflected in the collection’s golden Fs. The ‘parure’ – a term used in English and French for jewelry sets’ is an “expression of light, movement and the brilliant optimism of white and yellow diamonds,” writes Fendi in a statement. Delettrez Fendi also incorporated her fascination with kinetic forms in interaction with the human body into the designs.

The Flavus collection is a “first preview of the house’s high jewelry, fusing the mechanical and organic with a dash of mid-century sculptural glamour”.
