Statistics speak for Jackson-Cartwright
The 1.80 meter tall – for a basketball player rather small – “Wirbelwind” is a strong speed dribbler and surprisingly often finds the right gap in the opponent’s defense. “He should set the pace. And not look at his own statistics”, the former sports director Michael Wichterich had specified when signing up.
“PJC” is now setting the pace in the Bonn game and still lets the statistics speak: 18.8 points, 7.5 assists and 2.1 steals on average – these are values for a candidate for the “Most Valuable Player” (MVP).
Neighbors benefit from the playmaker
Of course, the Bonn squad does not only consist of the playmaker, but he carries the team along and creates gaps in the opposing defense, which he knows how to exploit with his great understanding of the game. In addition, he has good shooters as sidemen.
That can relieve the point guard from time to time and distribute the responsibility somewhat – but every opponent also knows: If you take out Bonn’s playmaker, the Telekom Baskets Bonn are a whole lot weaker.
