EC sand sculptures this summer in Middelkerke
The competition is organized in collaboration with the World Sand Sculpting Academy (WSSA), the world’s leading sand sculpture organization. The organization has selected six sand artists from Ukraine, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Spain and Bulgaria.

Following on from the dinosaur theme of the Zandsculpturenfestival Middelkerke, the artists are given ‘The origin of everything’ as the theme. Visitors to the Sand Sculpture Festival can watch the artists at work during the championship.
The judging and award ceremony will take place on 19 July. The title is still in the hands of the Dutchman Martijn Rijerse. After the championship, the artworks of the participants will remain during the entire festival, until September 12.
