Professional will probably replace Haller
Steven Bergwijn is set to return to the Eredivisie shortly. As “Voetbal International” and “The Telegraph” report unanimously, Ajax Amsterdam and Tottenham Hotspur have agreed verbally after long negotiations to transfer the 24-year-old offensive player.

Bergwijn is to move from London to Amsterdam for 30 million euros and receive a contract until 2027, according to those close to the top Dutch club. This would make him the most expensive purchase in the club’s history and replace Sébastien Haller (28, now with BVB).

The left winger switched from PSV Eindhoven to Spurs in January 2020 for €30m and has played 83 games for the Premier League representative since then, scoring eight goals and ten assists. His contract with Tottenham runs until June 2025. Bergwijn is said to have already reached an agreement in principle with Ajax, where he had already played as a youth player.
