Withdraw cash from your bank account? In many places – especially in the smaller villages – it is almost impossible. ATMs are increasingly disappearing from the streets.

What you often see are signs ‘pin only’, in other words: here you can only pay with your bank card – or telephone or smartwatch. Paper and coins are rarely accepted in public transport and at festivals, but it is also increasingly the case in the catering industry and in shops.

For many people this is not a problem and even the most normal thing in the world. It’s easy – no fiddling with coins and change – and it’s safer for the business owner. Because where there is no money, it cannot be stolen.

Digital track

However, a significant group of people do have a problem with this. To keep an overview of their expenses, for example. Some people get the money they have to spend for a certain period of time. Others don’t want to leave a ‘digital trail’ of their spending, because that simply isn’t anyone’s business.

So many people, so many reasons. What do you think?
