After Sinner’s victory, the Turin player also looks for the 3rd round against the French Gaston around 2 pm. Rafa on the Centrale, the number 1 on field 1
Lorenzo Sonego is the only Italian who will take the field on the fourth day of Wimbledon. But when? In the second match on field 14, after the women’s match between Alize Cornet and Claire Liu: the first match will begin at 12 Italian, then it will be Lorenzo’s turn against Hugo Gaston. After the beautiful – and not obvious – victory against Denis Kudla, Sonego is aiming for a possible third round against Rafael Nadal, engaged in the not so prohibitive (on paper) match against Ricardas Berankis.
The main fields
–
Nadal will play in the second match on Center Court, whose program of the day will be inaugurated by the match between Karolina Pliskova and Batie Boulter (hostess) at 14.30 Italian time. After Rafa, it will be up to Cori Gauff: the American, after the fright in the first round – comeback victory against Elena Gabriela Ruse -, will play against Mihaela Buzarnescu. This time it is therefore up to Coco to play in the main field of Wimbledon, while Iga Swiatek will have to “settle” for field 1: the Pole will play against the Dutch Pattinama Kerkhove in the second match, after the match between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Jordon Thompson (starting at 2 pm Italian). The third and final challenge in the second most important field of the Championships will face Alex de Minaur and Jack Draper.
The others
–
Attention to field 2, in which three seeds of the women’s draw (Badosa, Pegula and Halep) will be the protagonists – starting from 12 -, with the intriguing challenge between Nick Kyrgios and Filip Krajinovic as the second match. While on field 12, watch out for two possible outsiders among the men: Taylor Fritz against Alastair Gray in the first match and Denis Shapovalov against Brandon Nakashima in the third.
