The police held a major search for Nieuw-Vennep, Lisse and Hillegom last night after a report of a missing person. A police helicopter flew over the villages for hours and several units searched for the person. A police spokesman said this morning that it was a misunderstanding.
“We received a report of a missing person that seemed very urgent,” said the spokesperson. The woman would be in danger and so the police pulled out all the stops. “You don’t know what you’re dealing with.”

Thus the villages were the setting for a huge search. A police helicopter flew over the search area and the national police unit had also traveled to Nieuw-Vennep.
The alleged missing woman was eventually found in a home in Nieuw-Vennep and appeared not to be in danger. The search came as a surprise to her too.
