One of the best-known supergroups, the Hollywood Vampires, is touring Germany next summer: in June 2023, actor Johnny Depp, singer Alice Cooper, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry and colleagues will play five concerts in Oberhausen, Munich, Hamburg, Berlin and Mainz. Like many performances, her tour scheduled for last year fell through due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The exclusive presale begins on June 24 at 11 a.m. on the Reservix ticket portal. The general presale start will follow on June 27, also at 11 a.m.
The Hollywood Vampires in Germany:
06/20/23 Oberhausen – Rudolf Weber Arena
06/24/23 Munich – Olympic Hall
06/27/23 Hamburg – Stadtpark Open Air
06/28/23 Berlin – Spandau Citadel (Citadel Music Festival)
06/30/23 Mainz – Mainz Citadel (Summer In The City)
The Bandethos originated in an upmarket pub in the 70s
The group’s name is based on a club founded by Alice Cooper in Los Angeles, where prominent fellow musicians got drunk in the 1970s. In addition to Alice Cooper, the core of the drinking brothers also included Keith Moon, Ringo Starr, Micky Dolenz and Harry Nilsson – with John Lennon occasionally joining the party. “So in 2015 we put together a bar band,” says Cooper.
Starting out as “the most expensive cover band in the world”
Their debut self-titled album mostly covers rock songs from the ’60s and ’70s, earning the group the smug moniker of the ‘world’s most expensive cover band’. On June 21, 2019, the Hollywood Vampires released the sequel RISE. In contrast to the debut, it bundles mostly own pieces. “We didn’t want it to sound like an Alice Cooper album, nor did we want it to sound like an Aerosmith album. The record shows everyone at their best without anyone looking over our shoulders,” said guitarist Joe Perry of their latest long-player.
