Flemming signs with Millwall and delivers Fortuna one of highest amounts ever | NOW

Zian Flemming moves from Fortuna Sittard to Millwall. The 23-year-old playmaker is one of the most expensive sales ever made by the Eredivionist, although it has not been disclosed exactly how much has been paid for him.

The transfer fee is reportedly around 2.5 million euros. With that, Flemming would only have to tolerate Mark van Bommel, for whom PSV transferred 2.9 million euros in the summer of 1999.

Millwall finally got the hang of it by attracting Flemming, who still had a two-year contract in Limburg. The club, which plays at the second English level, also made attempts to sign the midfielder during the previous two transfer periods.

Flemming was trained by Ajax, where he did not make a debut in the first team. After periods at NEC and PEC Zwolle, he signed with Fortuna two years ago. In Limburg he became an important player with 27 goals and eleven assists in 63 games.

Earlier this summer, Fortuna already said goodbye to keeper Michael Verrips (he left for FC Groningen) and mercenaries Jordan Botaka, Nigel Lonwijk and Ryan Johansson. This is offset by the sensational arrival of Burak Yilmaz.

Millwall finished ninth in the Championship last season. The club saw midfielder Maikel Kieftenbeld leave for FC Emmen.
