Minister Christianne van der Wal (Nature and Nitrogen) has reported a death threat and incitement against the owner of a truck. On the back of the truck are the names of Pim Fortuyn and Theo van Gogh with their dates of death. Below it is the name of the minister, a cross and a question mark.
A spokesperson for the minister confirms a report about this from NRC. The truck was also present on Wednesday at the large demonstration by farmers in Stroe in Gelderland. This can be seen on images from Shownieuws from SBS6.
The demonstrating farmers are furious with the minister for her nitrogen plans. Nitrogen emissions must be significantly reduced to improve nature. The majority of nitrogen emissions are attributable to farmers.
Unacceptable
After Van der Wal had presented her nitrogen plans exactly a week ago, dozens of farmers with tractors went to her home in the evenings to make up their minds. The politicians reacted indignantly. The cabinet called it “unacceptable”, but also said that there is little that can be done about it. No criminal offenses were committed at the minister’s house.
