The US e-commerce giant Amazon has promoted Doug Herrington to head its global retail operations. CEO Andy Jassy announced the personnel decision on Tuesday in the company’s blog.
Herrington will be CEO of the Worldwide Amazon Stores segment. The division previously operated under the name Worldwide Consumer and was headed by Dave Clark, who recently announced his resignation. Herrington joined Amazon in 2005 and most recently led the retail business in North America.
Jassy also announced that John Felton will assume sole responsibility for Operations, reporting directly to Herrington. According to the blog post, Felton has been with the company for almost 18 years. Most recently, he headed the Global Delivery Services division, which includes global import and export, logistics and the delivery service of the e-commerce specialist.
