These are the 13 most successful TT drivers of all time

When we think of the TT, we immediately think of Valentino Rossi. Il Dottore, who ended his career after last season, won the TT Assen ten times. A great achievement, but the most successful driver ever on the Circuit of Drenthe is really a Spaniard. Who? We have listed the thirteen most successful TT drivers of all time for you.

This year he will in any case not win the TT Assen, because he is not there due to an operation. But who’s to say he can’t move higher on this list in the future? Marc Márquez is the only driver with five wins in Assen who is still active in the Road Race World Championship.

Márquez recorded his first victory in Assen in 2010 as a youngster in the 125 cc. In the two years after that he is the strongest in the 250 cc. Although he was the big favorite for years after his move to MotoGP, he has ‘only’ booked two victories there. The list of podium places, on the other hand, is impressive.

If one driver hates the TT Circuit, it’s Mick Doohan. The Australian crashes in Assen in 1992 and sustains an ugly broken leg. Due to mistakes in the hospital, he threatens to never walk again, but miracles still exist.

Doohan manages to come back, perhaps stronger than ever. And although he thinks Assen is terrible, he wins there five times in a row. He does that between 1994 and 1998, if there is no size on him in the 500 cc.
