Martien Meiland does not believe that Marieke Elsinga was almost burned out this spring. In retrospect, it will have been just some morning sickness, according to the SBS 6 star.

Marieke Elsinga recently returned to the radio with Qmusic after an absence of six weeks. She had taken some time off, because she said she was mentally very tired. Shortly after her return, the presenter announced that she was pregnant, which fits with the rumors that she would leave the radio station.

puking Marieke

In retrospect, Marieke’s fatigue must have simply had to do with that pregnancy, Martien Meiland thinks. “She was out of circulation for a while. Back then everyone thought she had a burnout, but that was probably just that kid’s nausea. He started to puke,” he says in his podcast What good

His wife Erica thinks the same. “She said, ‘I’m very tired,’ but that could also be from the pregnancy.”

Martien: “I think she’s a nice girl.”

Marieke denies

Marieke herself denies that she has been at home because of her pregnancy. “I haven’t been home because I’m pregnant. I also see that coming in: ‘Marieke must have been nauseous and that is probably the reason she went home.’ No, it really wasn’t,” she says on Qmusic.

She continues: “I was just really in need of some mental rest. I could have done that last year and actually the year before.”

nudge

Does her pregnancy have nothing to do with it? “What I do think – and that’s actually the beauty of being pregnant – is that it has subconsciously given me the push to say for once: ‘I’ll stop going beyond my limits and I’ll choose myself.'”

She concludes: “Because not only do you have your own health, but you are also building a baby in your belly.”
