The Barcelona metropolitan area has lost half of his bank offices in the last seven years, thus becoming Barcelona province, followed closely by Tarragona and Girona, in the territorial demarcation of the State that registers the greatest decrease of branches since the financial crisis broke out in 2008, according to data from the Bank of Spain.

Despite Barcelonawhich in 2015 had 1,294 and today a little less than half (some 560), is by far the metropolitan city that has lost the most offices in absolute terms (neither more nor less than 734, a 56.7%), other highly populated cities such as L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (-68); Badalona (-57); Cornella de Llobregat (-30); Y Santa Coloma de Gramenet (-25) also show notable variations.
