Tadej Pogacar is back. 97 days after the last stage victory in the Tirreno-Adriatico (the arrival on the Carpegna, the day then conquered the final classification), 14 from the start of the Tour de France, on 1 July from Copenhagen. The Slovenian champion, the winner of the last two editions of the Tour de France dominated the third stage of the Tour of Slovenia.

The 23-year-old from UAE Emirates signed the 144.6km Žalec-Celje leg and is the new leader of the race. Behind him his teammate Rafal Majka, third Nicola Conci (Alpecin Fenix). A stage that experienced the attack from the start of Polanc (Uae), Groenewegen (BikeExchange), Sevilla (Eolo), Zoccarato (Bardiani), Etxebarria (Euskaltel), Brozyna (Adria Mobil) and Peltonen (Global 6 Cycling). Then a continuous change in the lead where Zoccarato, De Rossi (China Glory) and Banaszek (HRE Mazowsze) remain. On the ascent of Svetina the change of pace of the UAE with Majka and Pogacar who detached the group remaining alone in the lead. Downhill the UAE couple was joined by Conci but on the final tear Pogacar started again, winning the stage. Saturday fourth stage from Laško to Velika Planina of 152.4 km.
