Hannover announces the 500 tickets that can currently be awarded per home game: “Hannover 96 must and would like to use this quota in order to at least partially meet the contractual obligations towards the partners and sponsors and thus be able to avert at least a manageable part of the economic damage.”
Other tickets for season ticket holders – by drawing lots
At Borussia Mönchengladbach, half of the 750 tickets that can be issued per stadium in North Rhine-Westphalia go to the box areas. At RB Leipzig, half also goes to sponsors – in Saxony, however, out of 1,000 tickets.
Other clubs such as Arminia Bielefeld do not even communicate the current relationship between VIP and “normal” tickets. Probably to avoid displeasure among the fans.
Where tickets are still available at regular prices after sponsors and VIPs have been supplied, they are currently usually raffled off among season ticket holders. So that the small chances of still being able to go to the stadium are distributed fairly for everyone.
Shit storm at Fortuna Dusseldorf
Fortuna Düsseldorf thought of something else. The second division football team communicated this so poorly this week that a small shitstorm from the fan community broke out over the club.
The association had announced that the part of the 750 places that did not go to sponsors and VIPs would be given to non-profit organizations, fan clubs and helpers fighting the pandemic, as well as to “deserving” members. But who is a “deserving member” remained unclear.
The ticket allocation before the home game against Nuremberg was not transparent, some fans then accused their club. A follower wrote under Fortuna’s Facebook post: “At the age of 42, Fortuna, 27 years of a season ticket, 10 years of membership, I’m still not in the illustrious circle of deserving members. I guess I have to try harder.“
In the meantime, Fortuna has announced that the tickets have been given to members who have been volunteering for the club for years. 100 tickets also went to so-called “Everything Drivers”, i.e. fans with an away ticket season ticket.
