After two years of standing still, the organizers of Julianapop can’t wait to organize another great day with music and fun in Julianadorp next Saturday. The festival, which once started very small, was sold out within days. Volunteers are busy this week turning the bare grass field into a festival site.
“We are going super fast,” says Julianapop board member Mitsy Haeck, when she looks around the festival site. Since Monday, an enthusiastic group of volunteers has been working hard to set up the festival, which will be attended by about 5,000 people next Saturday. And besides the enthusiasm, the weather is also very good. “We had a year when we were building in the rain and then you are really significantly less productive than in the sun,” says Haeck.
The stage and the bar are up and now people are working hard on the decorations that should obscure the black fences a bit. There is going to be a big unpacking, and according to the organization that is also allowed after a canceled Julianapop in 2020 and an online edition in 2021. “I am very happy that this is finally possible again,” says Haeck.

The organization has been working hard on a dazzling line-up lately. For example, Rondé, Maan, Sjaak, Donnie and a Belgian cover band from Queen provide live entertainment. There is also room for local talent, because the Helderse singer Lotte Schuiling can also be added to the line-up. “There is something for everyone,” says Haeck.
New place
Since this year, the festival will be held at a different location than before. Houses have been built on the old lawn in recent years. This year the festival will therefore be set up on a lawn on the Zuiderhaaks, opposite the old location a few hundred meters away. “We had to redraw some things and make some adjustments, but it just looks in the style that everyone of us is used to,” says Haeck.
