‘Read in one go’

The jury awarded the prize because the book was written by an author who knows how to drag the reader into a history that starts innocently but gets more and more sinister. A book that the jury members read in one sitting, which has a beautiful tension and is difficult to predict due to the originality of the story. Pauw already won the prize in 2009 and is the first female author to win the most important thriller prize twice.
