Italy win in Nations League, Germany and England draw

Italy has booked its first victory in the top division of the Nations League. The European champion won 2-1 against Hungary in Cesena. Germany and England drew in Munich: 1-1.

Nicolò Barella put Italy 1-0 against the Hungarians after half an hour. Leonardo Spinazzola played on Barella who was well free on the edge of the penalty area and who hit the target. Lorenzo Pellegrini made it 2-0 just before half-time on a pass from Matteo Politano. Hungary came back slightly in the 61 minute thanks to an own goal by Gianluca Mancini, but the equalizer failed to materialize.

Germany took on England, the other finalist of the last European Championship, in the Allianz Arena. National coach Hansi Flick sent a completely different team into the field than against Italy last Saturday. Jamal Musiala, Jonas Hofmann and David Raum, among others, were given a chance in the base. Hofmann made the 1-0 in the 51st minute after a cross from Joshua Kimmich. Manuel Neuer, who was just in the starting line-up, made a good save fifteen minutes before the end on a bet by Harry Kane.

However, with a penalty from Kane in the 88th minute, Neuer had no chance. The captain of the England squad was allowed to moor from 11 meters after he had previously been knocked out by Nico Schlotterbeck. The Spanish referee Carlos Del Cerro Grande had viewed the images on the advice of the VAR and decided on the penalty.

Italy leads in group 3 after two matches with 4 points. Hungary has 3 points, Germany 2 and England 1.
