This year’s edition of Rock am Ring started on Friday. The Donots opened the festival with a bang – they brought the Toten Hosen onto the stage.
First, the Donots performed their own rendition of the song “Here Comes Alex.” Meanwhile, the singer Ingo Donot asked the audience: “What would Rock am Ring be without the pants?” After the Donots had finished the song, Campino and colleagues actually appeared – and played the original version of their classic. This was followed by a final cover interlude with “Schrei nach Liebe” by Die Ärzte, before the band from Düsseldorf said goodbye again.
Although the performance came as a surprise, the Donots and Toten Hosen are old acquaintances. The Donots already played in 2013 and 2018 as support for the Toten Hosen.
