Hütter successor
Borussia Mönchengladbach has found a new coach. On Saturday, the “foals” presented Daniel Farke as the successor to Adi Hütter, who had to vacate the post after the end of a disappointing season. Farke gets a contract until 2025.
“With Daniel Farke, we were able to sign a coach who fits the path we want to take exactly,” explained Borussia’s sporting director Roland Virkus. “We look forward to tackling the challenges ahead together with him.” Farke will assist Christopher John and Edmund Riemer as assistant coaches.
Farke already has an unusual coaching career behind him. As an amateur and youth coach, the native of Upper Swabia worked for SV Lippstadt and Borussia Dortmund II until 2017, before Norwich City brought him into the English second division. There, the rise promptly succeeded, which Farke was able to repeat with the team after a descent. Most recently he was hired by FK Krasnodar in Russia, but left the job after a short time because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Daniel Farke is the new head coach of Borussia Mönchengladbach. The 45-year-old signed a contract with the foals that runs until 2025.

Actually, in Gladbach, the commitment of ex-coach Lucien Favre as the successor to Adi Hütter, who was on leave, was already almost certain. However, at Borussia’s general meeting on Monday evening, head of sport Roland Virkus announced: “You can be sure that we have done everything we can to achieve this. But he told us that he has the rhombus in his heart, but doesn’t want to work in Germany again.” Because of the open trainer personnel, the desired restructuring of the squad at Gladbach obviously stalled, as did contract talks with top performers. Jonas Hofmann has just announced that his decision will have to be postponed for a few more weeks.
