Gladbach probably before Farke’s commitment as a coach

Mönchengladbach (AP) – According to media reports, Daniel Farke is close to being hired as coach of the Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach.

After Lucien Favre’s surprising cancellation, everything points to a commitment from the 45-year-old, wrote the “Rheinische Post” and the “Kicker” on Saturday. Farke had made a name for himself working at Norwich City, twice leading the club to the English Premier League. Most recently he was hired by FK Krasnodar in Russia, but left the job after a short time because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Actually, in Gladbach, Favre’s commitment as the successor to Adi Hütter, who was on leave, was already almost certain. However, at Borussia’s general meeting on Monday evening, sports director Roland Virkus announced: “You can be sure that we have done everything we can. But he told us that he has the diamond in his heart but does not want to work in Germany again.”

Because of the open trainer personnel, the desired restructuring of the squad at Gladbach is also faltering. After a disappointing pre-season which saw the club finish tenth, Virkus is under pressure. “I can only hope that this issue will be clarified quickly,” national player Jonas Hoffmann had recently said about the coaching question.
