BNR editor-in-chief Mireille van Ark, who recently received a lot of criticism for her failed attempt to keelhaul Yvonne Coldeweijer, will become the new deputy editor-in-chief of RTL Nieuws.

BNR editor-in-chief Mireille van Ark and presenter Talitha Muusse were very proud at the talk show table of Khalid & Sophie at the beginning of last week. They had recorded a fake video of a sniffing Talitha and managed to get it through an anonymous tip in Yvonne Coldeweijer’s private Telegram chat. They were very proud.

From Yvonne to RTL

What exactly Mireille was trying to prove is completely unclear. Yvonne had nota bene heard both sides and had taken three blows when the video was published. In addition, it turned out afterwards that Yvonne had been deprived of the opportunity to conduct a more in-depth hearing and that BNR misled other media.

Especially now that Yvonne is working on a complaint to the Council for Journalism, Mireille runs away. She will start working as the new deputy editor-in-chief of RTL Nieuws on 1 September. In this position she will lead the editorial team together with deputy editor-in-chief Dennis van Luling and editor-in-chief Ilse Openneer.

Very proud

Ilse Openneer, editor-in-chief of RTL Nieuws, is very proud. “She is not only a highly experienced journalist and executive, but above all an innovator. With her clear strategic view, journalistic acuity and pleasant management style, she is the perfect addition to our editorial team.”

And Mireille herself says: “It is with some pain in my heart that I say goodbye to BNR, where I have devoted myself fully for eight years. Now it is time for a new role and environment, which I am really looking forward to. Together with Ilse and Dennis I will work on the further strategy development of all RTL Nieuws brands.”
