BAM says that AZ has a debt of 4.3 million euros after the renovation of the stadium. The renovation was necessary, after part of the roof came down†
AZ: BAM did not meet the delivery date
The Alkmaarders deny this and say that BAM did not meet the delivery date of 17 February 2021. That is why AZ has decided not to pay the full amount for the renovation. AZ also does not want to bear the extra costs incurred due to delays.
Seizure?
It is unknown whether BAM will actually seize occupations of AZ. In the NHD says the lawyer of the construction company, Mark Littooij: “That is up to BAM to decide. The most important thing is that it is allowed, the procedure saw to that.”
AZ reacts surprised with a statement on the site and talks about a formality. They indicate that it will not affect day-to-day business operations. They also indicate that they will not appeal. The football club still looks forward to the substantive proceedings on the merits with all confidence. “As soon as the proceedings on the merits work out in AZ’s favor, the attachment will automatically lapse,” they say on the website.
