Zelensky: Ukraine loses 60-100 soldiers a day

Every day, between 60 and 100 Ukrainian soldiers die fighting Russia and another 500 are injured, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky told Newsmax on Wednesday.

Ukrainian forces are fighting fierce fighting against Russian forces trying to control the Luhansk region of eastern Ukraine. An important city in the area, Severodonetsk, is now largely under the control of the Russian army, after heavy shelling that virtually destroyed the city, according to Ukrainian television. “The situation in the east is really difficult,” Zelenski said. “But we keep our defensive positions,” Zelenski said.

The Russians would also suffer significant losses at the front. The Ukrainian government last week estimated that Russia has lost more than 30,000 soldiers since the invasion of Ukraine began on February 24.
