Barcelona already won the league title weeks ago. The Catalan team won all thirty matches in the Spanish League and came out with a goal difference of 159-11. Just like last year, Barcelona also reached the final of the Champions League, but the defending champion had to lose out against Olympique Lyon (1-3) in Turin last week. Martens then joined the team after the break as a substitute.
In the final of the Copa de la Reina, the Limburg left winger was allowed to play the entire match. After a halftime score of 2-0, Sporting Huelva did something back, but then Barcelona ran out to a convincing victory. Last year, Martens and her teammates also took the ‘double’.
Martens will now prepare with the Orange for the European Championship in England next summer.
