Week of the Bee in the Gavers Harelbeke

Until next Sunday 5 June, the Environment Department is organizing the ninth edition of Week van de Bij. With the slogan ‘Less concrete, more bees’, Dominique Persoone and Britt van Marsenille, godfather and godmother of the initiative, emphasize the theme of softening. Plants and trees provide more food for bees.

Extra attention will also be paid to this in De Gavers in Harelbeke this weekend. “Because bees and bumblebees are useful insects,” they say.

Diksmuide and Ghent most bee-friendly municipalities

Like Ghent, the city of Diksmuide can call itself the most bee-friendly municipality in Flanders this year. With the title, the organization rewards them for their efforts to create more nature for bees.
