Paris (AP) – Rafael Nadal followed the two title rivals Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz into the third round at the French Open. The 13-time Paris winner easily defeated Frenchman Corentin Moutet 6-3, 6-1, 6-4.
The Spaniard faces Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp on Friday. Djokovic also had no trouble in the 6: 2, 6: 3, 7: 6 (7: 4) against Slovakian Alex Molcan. The world number one from Serbia is now dealing with the Slovenian Aljaz Bedene.
Nadal’s compatriot Alcaraz had to fight hard against the Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6: 1, 6: 7 (7: 9), 5: 7, 7: 6 (7: 2), 6: 4. In the fourth set, the tennis prodigy even had a match point against him, but in the end he prevailed after 4:34 hours. Alcaraz is now playing against the American Sebastian Korda.
